Good views and informative guides. Not funded by the broke state, rather by the City of Hartford. Handicap accessible and a good place to take school-age children. Restrooms locked when not business hours.
I enjoyed the quick tour which was just enough information. The guide was very energetic and answered questions well enough. I'm not fond of heights but the view from the highest point is amazing seeing the meeting of two rivers. Good stop along the river road. The tour was $6/ea for adults and was just a few minutes.
Weird monument. Looks super out of place, but has a great view. They have cool 4th of July events where you can go up and see fireworks from every city. Bike trails are nice around here too, but difficult to ride to with construction around 111.
One quick fact: This is not a state-owned facility and is actually local.
The host we had that day was just a love to see she knows he stuff I would go back just to see her and here the things she had to say she was a great .I think here name was miss Paterson
It was fun to see and take the tour up. Some local volunteers run the shop and the tour, so it was fun to hear what they had to say.
The view up there is nice, but it feels like it would be better if the tower was a bit closer to the river.
